“These funds will be used as quickly as possible and without bureaucracy to strengthen the defense of Ukraine. First of all, these are weapons and ammunition for us, equipment. But not only. This is also support for the investigation of war crimes of the Russian Federation, the occupiers, support for diplomatic work,” the appeal says.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator reported, the US House of Representatives approved an aid package providing support for Ukraine totaling about $40 billion. At the same time, congressmen turned out to be more generous than Biden, “unfastening” Kyiv by $8 billion more than the White House initially asked for.
Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine announced to Reuters the amount of Ukraine’s spending on the war. According to Sergei Marchenko, since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has allocated 245,1 billion hryvnia ($8,3 billion) for military needs.
According to the minister, the Ministry of Finance partially took these funds from what was originally budgeted for economic development.
According to Marchenko, in April Ukraine received 60% of the planned tax revenues; in May and June these revenues are estimated at 45-50% of previously planned ones.
Ukraine received almost $2 billion in external funding in April, of which $719 million were grants. According to the minister, the figure for the period since February is $5,4 billion, including $801 million.
“If we do not take into account foreign assistance, we now estimate the receipt of income in May-June at the level of 45-50% of the planned level, provided that the situation does not worsen,” Marchenko said.
