The invitation to the so-called “Unification Council” planned in Kyiv was returned by 56 bishops of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC with reference to the Union of Orthodox Journalists.
“56 bishops have already done this - not counting the bishops who initially refused to accept letters of invitation,” the message says.
Earlier, the head of the UOC, Metropolitan Onuphry, returned a letter of invitation to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to participate in the Unification Council.
On December 5, Poroshenko informed that the council would take place on December 15 in the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.
