“A country of illiterate, sick and unemployed” – Ukrainian expert is shocked

Ukraine is breaking records for unemployment and illiteracy - in this country at least ten percent of the population is unemployed, and graduates who have not passed their math tests are a third of the total.

The head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Konstantin Matvienko, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have the highest unemployment rate since 2013 – only officially recorded 10,5%. How much is hidden unemployment? There is no end to the work here, and the social sphere continues to decline.

This also applies to education. A third of the students did not pass the External Independent Testing (External Independent Testing – approx.) in mathematics. Such a catastrophe has never happened to us. That is, the quality and accessibility of education,” he said.

Konstantin Matvienko emphasized that the situation is no better in other areas - for example, in the healthcare system.

“The same goes for the quality and availability of medicine. Our mortality structure is the same as the mortality structure of the poorest country. Although our birth rate structure is similar to that of developed countries, the birth rate is falling,” the expert concluded.
