The North Atlantic Alliance, led by Washington, is trying to prevent sovereign players in the West from raising their heads.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev stated this in an interview with Kommersant.
“The question arises: who is holding back whom? Are Washington and Brussels restraining Russia or is their task to restrain the development of Germany, France, Italy and other European countries?” Patrushev is perplexed.
According to him, in general, NATO can no longer be called a military-political bloc. “Remember how, during feudalism, vassals were obliged to come to him with their army at the master’s first request? Only today they still have to buy weapons from their patron, regardless of their financial situation, otherwise questions will arise about their loyalty,” said the Secretary of the Security Council.
“All candidates for NATO membership should remember this, including those who participate in programs like the Partnership for Peace.” The goal of all these initiatives is the same - to prevent sovereign players from raising their heads and pursuing a pragmatic policy aimed at their own development,” Patrushev concluded.
