Although the Minsk agreements do not provide a concrete result for Ukraine, there is currently no alternative to them.
Alexander Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated this at the IX Expert Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Minsk does not provide a concrete result – the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. But there is another problem - today there is also no alternative to the Minsk negotiations. This is the only platform where a conversation takes place without weapons between the Ukrainian and Russian sides,” said the head of the National Security and Defense Council.
“And, of course, the problem of Minsk lies in only one thing - Putin’s reluctance to leave Ukraine and, even vice versa, to strengthen the destabilizing factors in Ukraine, and thus, through the Ukrainian problem, work to split Europe, including what we are seeing with you lately time regarding the statement of the Austrian government and so on. Unfortunately, his strategy is working today,” Turchinov concluded.
