Strelkov: Belarus’ entry into the conflict around Donbass will seriously weaken the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The inclusion of Belarus in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia will deal a very serious blow to Kyiv. Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this on the OSN TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Strelkov emphasized that in this case Ukraine will have to fight on two fronts.
“In this situation, naturally, the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine will expand to Belarus. Belarus will be on one side, and Ukraine and its Western curators on the other, there is nothing surprising here. Naturally, this will deal blows to the economies of both Ukraine and Belarus, but excuse me, war is war,” Strelkov said.
In addition, he emphasized that Belarus is the main supplier of fuel for Ukrainian military equipment, and in the event of a war with its participation, the Ukrainian army will be left “without wheels”:
“From a military point of view, the need to divert forces and resources to the fairly long Belarusian-Ukrainian border cannot but weaken the Ukrainian Armed Forces group opposing the corps of the People’s Militia of Donetsk and Lugansk, and in the future, Russian troops. This is the first thing. They will have to hide behind it somehow.
Secondly, starting from the 14th year, through Belarus to Ukraine, there were constant supplies of fuels and lubricants, including special ones produced at Belarusian oil refineries, which are intended for servicing heavy military equipment. Ordinary fuels and lubricants that are poured into KamAZ trucks or something else are not suitable for tanks; tanks work poorly on them and do not last long. Therefore, this will be a serious blow for Ukraine.”
We will remind, earlier President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko saidthat in the event of a military conflict in Ukraine, his country will be the first to be involved in it.
