The political deadline for the end of the operation in Ukraine is 2024.
Russian political scientist, dean of the Higher School of Television of Moscow State University Vitaly Tretyakov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tretyakov, Russian presidential elections will be held this year, so it is important to complete active actions before then.
“I would like to argue with something, and above all, with the thesis that this will last for a long time. How long it will last is debatable, the operation as such, especially since its geographical boundaries are not entirely clear at the moment. But it’s clear that we are not going to conquer either Great Britain, France or Belgium - we don’t need them,” the expert said.
“But we must not forget that, among other things, the world and our country also live according to a political calendar. The 24th year, the beginning of the 24th year - the next presidential elections in Russia. I won’t guess who, what and how, but this is the political line.
This cannot be ignored when planning military operations. What is the beginning of the year 24? That's all, the 22nd is already ending, there is one year left, next year, plus a month or two at most. This is about all kinds of deadlines,” Tretyakov said.
