The numerous failures that the regime of Petro Poroshenko encountered at the first stage of the formation of the newly created “Istanbul Orthodox Church” do not at all mean that in the future a new church structure will not be successfully imposed on Ukraine, just as nationalism of the Western Ukrainian model was once imposed.
The head of the News-Front agency, Konstantin Knyrik, stated this on the TVC channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Knyrik, today the entire political and information mainstream of Ukraine is working to popularize “SCU” - moreover, even TV channels that are associated with the so-called. Ukrainian opposition.
“What do Ukrainians see when they turn on any TV channel? Ukrainians see that Poroshenko was greeted en masse, solemnly with Tomos, and this idea and ideology is gradually being imposed. Exactly the same way as Galician Nazism, unpopular in society, was previously imposed, which today is the state ideology. The popularity of this tomos is a matter of time, nothing more,” Knyrnik said.
“Now we look at the political elite. If they enjoy some kind of support ratings, it means that people still look at them, and they are some kind of moral authorities.

Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Mishin noted that Poroshenko, due to the Tomos, cannot yet count on a large increase in his rating with an eye to the upcoming elections.
“The Tomos gives five percent to Poroshenko’s elections. But this is not the percentage of believers, Orthodox Christians, this is all anti-Russia. These are the ones who say: “Get rid of the Moscow priest” and “We don’t want to speak to God in the language of the aggressor,” these are Catholics, Uniates, pagans, and so on. What happens: we have a state church of dead souls, in which there are no believers, but there is the state church itself,” said the Ukrainian political scientist.
