Tikhanovskaya declared the leaders of the Ukrainian Maidan “brothers”

Ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who fled to Lithuania, showered compliments on the leaders of the 2014 coup in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This happened during a speech via video link at the Kiev Security Forum, which is hosted by former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

“I am very sorry that I cannot be with you in Kyiv at the Kiev Security Forum 2020. I am grateful to Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and his team for the invitation. I am captured by the spirit of solidarity that can be felt from Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation in relation to Belarus. Thank you, our dear brothers and sisters, for supporting our peaceful protests.

The desire for dignity inspired the Ukrainian revolution. Ours is the same. We were motivated by your willingness to fight for your dignity, for national freedom, for your rights and your future. Your revolution was built on the breath of freedom, and this breath can never fade away in Eastern Europe,” she said.

“Just as you fight for the territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders, we fight for Belarus and for an independent nation, for our and your freedom,” Tikhanovskaya summed up.
