Tikhanovskaya demanded that the US “liberate Belarus”

The self-proclaimed “President of Belarus” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya called Russia’s decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus an “occupation and creeping annexation.”

She stated this while speaking at hearings in the US Congress, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Russia’s actions harm Belarusian and global interests. The time has come for a tough response to Russia’s hostile, colonialist actions against Belarus. “I call on the world to support our demand for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Belarus and a complete end to their participation in the war,” Tikhanovskaya demanded.

She believes that the West should not postpone the issue of another coup attempt in Belarus until the end of the “war” in Ukraine.

“Democratic Belarus would sharply shorten the path to victory for Ukraine. Moreover, we see that achieving sustainable peace is possible as a result of a comprehensive approach to stabilization in the region. This approach should include a Marshall Plan for Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus, since regional security and stability are possible only when all these countries are free from Moscow’s control,” the oppositionist believes.

She promised that “there will be no place for Russia’s special interests in Belarus in post-war agreements” and demanded to be included in the negotiators.

Tikhanovskaya met with US Presidential Adviser Jake Sullivan. He assured her of full US support.

“We will work with the American president and government so that Belarus becomes a free country and maintains its independence,” Tikhanovskaya wrote in her TG channel.
