Tymoshenko was accused of intending to appoint an “enemy of the nation” as ambassador to Russia
Yulia Tymoshenko proposed appointing Viktor Medvedchuk as deputy prime minister in her 2005 government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The third President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv publication Ukrayinska Pravda.
“She brought the photographs to Balogha and formulated this first question to him. And then she came to me and suggested that it would be better if Medvedchuk became deputy prime minister. It was a shock for me,” he noted.
According to Yushchenko, Tymoshenko voiced such a proposal to him, but the ex-president categorically rejected this idea.
“When I categorically said that this would not happen, a second proposal arose - ambassador to Russia,” Yushchenko noted, adding that Medvedchuk was also not appointed ambassador.
When asked to characterize Medvedchuk as a politician, Yushchenko answered unequivocally:
“I don’t want to waste my words.”
When asked for clarification whether Yushchenko considers Medvedchuk an “enemy of the nation,” he noted:
"Three dots".
