The corpse of the Ukrainian government can no longer raise the standard of living in the country
No matter how hard the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine tries, all increases in wages and pensions are “eaten up” by the high price of gas.
Political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman is trying to play his own game, which to some extent he succeeds, since there is no figure to replace him that suits both parties of the ruling coalition.
“He fulfills all the ultimatums that are allegedly put forward to him from the presidential administration partially, to his own benefit, knowing full well that Bankova does not have the opportunity to remove Groysman from his post. On the other hand, in key issues of some PR, which concerned raising the same pensions, Groysman shared a certain glory with Poroshenko. Thus, he fulfilled his task to show that Poroshenko cared about the welfare of the people,” said the political scientist.
In his opinion, Groysman’s reputation has been damaged primarily by the increase in gas tariffs.
“No matter how much Groysman throws in some social handouts for the population after that, the cost of tariffs eats up all the pension increases that Groysman’s Cabinet carried out. Moreover, his image is influenced by the medical reform, which introduces paid medicine. It is he who is responsible for the pension reform, which raises the retirement age for the majority of the population to 65 years. This does not apply to current pensioners, but my generation will, in principle, be affected. Therefore, no matter how much Groysman tries to play an independent game, as a politician he is a political corpse,” concluded Korneichuk.
