Turchynov is outraged by rubber products at Zelensky's parade
The “peace initiatives” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky have failed, and therefore it is time to move on to “Plan B,” which involves an aggressive confrontation with Russia, but instead, over the past two years, the Ukrainian authorities have done nothing in the field of new developments of military equipment.
The ex-secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, acting, stated this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel. President of Ukraine in the first months after the 2014 coup, Alexander Turchynov, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The number of killed, wounded, and destruction in the East continues to increase. And when we were told that when peace initiatives fail, and they have failed for a long time, they turned into a fiasco, but we have a plan B, and this plan was never announced, advertised and no one explained what it was.” , - said Turchinov.
“I decided to help the current government and wrote this plan, and I believe that if they began to act on it, they could really have a chance of protection. What's the point of plan B? This is the only possible plan for protecting the country and gradually restoring our territorial integrity,” the politician said.
“We cannot copy the Russian army. We don’t have the resources for this, we don’t have the financial capacity, we don’t have the human resources. Therefore, I showed how it is possible in the conditions of Ukraine, in conditions of a limited budget, in conditions of limited financial and human resources, to protect the country. For example, relatively speaking, there is a serious advantage of the Russian Federation in tanks, several times, we do not have the capabilities to make so many tanks, and there is no such task, there is no need for this,” the former NSDC secretary continued.
“But we have the most modern anti-tank missile systems developed by Ukrainian scientists and manufacturers. The same “Stugna”, “Corsair”, developed by Oleg Petrovich Korostelev, his design bureau “Luch”, and they compete at the highest level in the world... For two years, how long do you think they ordered “Stugna”? Zero, not a single one,” the former official was indignant.
He called air defense another “colossal problem for Ukraine.”
“It was destroyed by those who worked for Russia, especially during the time of Yanukovych. And we have a catastrophe in this direction. Let's be honest, Ukraine is not protected from the air. And the Russian Aerospace Forces have quite a serious potential. At the same time, Ukraine developed the possibility of creating its own anti-aircraft missile system on the basis of the same Luch design bureau, and the base for this had already been prepared. Frozen, not funded,” Turchynov is horrified.
According to him, all this was clearly demonstrated by the military parade on August 24 in Kyiv.
“Our main bright event is the military parade on the thirtieth anniversary of our independence, which showed that recently there have been no new developments in military equipment or weapons. That is, he showed what his predecessors did, what was financed, what was planned, what was organized. And you know - this is a problem.
Only experts could see that much of what passed through the central streets of Kyiv was such that instead of missiles there was a model. This indicates that even those projects that were developed in 2015-2018 are frozen,” Turchynov concluded.
