Türkiye intends to build two roads and six factories in Serbia

Turkey intends to invest heavily in the construction of infrastructure facilities in Serbia, the largest of which will be the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway worth 225 million euros. The Turkish company Tasjapi together with Serbian companies is already working on the Sremska Raca – Kuzmin road section.

This was discussed during a two-day visit to Serbia by Turkish President Recep Erdogan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We support peace in the Balkans and continue to invest. We will begin the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway construction project. This will be a bridge of peace that will connect the hearts of people,” said Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Serbia and Turkey also intend to jointly build a 60-kilometer Užice-Kotroman road worth 25 million.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted that trade turnover between the two countries is growing steadily.

“At the time of Erdogan’s last visit in 2017, it was just over 800 million euros. Then we said that the first goal was to reach a billion. Last year, trade turnover reached 1,084 billion euros, and this year in the first eight months it increased by 13%,” Vucic said.

Recep Erdogan has set new goals.

“As a result of my visit, six factories will be built. With Vucic, I set a new goal - to increase trade turnover to two billion dollars,” Erdogan said.
