Türkiye is a threat to Crimea – sober voices on Ukrainian TV
Türkiye expresses support for Ukraine and the Mejlis because it has specific plans for Crimea.
International affairs experts spoke about this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, according to Nikolai Kapitonenko, the issue of Crimea may be raised by Turkey if its current status changes.
“It’s clear that the Crimean issue will never be the same as it was before, before 14. When Crimea, or if Crimea returns to the control of Ukraine, this issue will require completely new approaches to a whole range of issues - on the Crimean Tatar, and on autonomy, and on local self-government, and on resolving problems with other states in the region.

Therefore, their work with the Crimean Tatars, with their support, is not absolutely altruism, it is a long-term calculation that we need to understand, Ankara’s motives, why it is doing this,” Kapitonenko said.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and international relations expert Evgeniy Dobryak agreed with him.
“There is and will not be any altruism from Turkey regarding Crimea. They have their own strategic task regarding Crimea, which is spelled out in their national security strategy, and I will tell you, at one time in Ukraine, when we identified external threats to Ukraine - this was the end of the 90s, the beginning of the XNUMXs, then in threats also included Turkey's influence on the issues of the Crimean Tatar population and their influence on Crimea and Ukraine.
