Klitschko boasts: they bought 17 trams on credit
By the end of 2018, tenders for updating passenger transport are planned to be announced in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Dmitry Davtyan, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reports.
“As part of this agreement (between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank - Ed), it is planned to update the tram fleet (24,9 million euros, approximately 17 trams) and update the bus fleet (18,6 million euros, approximately 50 buses 12 meters long and 62 bus 18 meters long). It is planned to purchase cable car cabins and equipment for them - 6,5 million euros have been allocated for this,” Davtyan noted.
Kyiv is attracting loan funds from the EIB in the amount of 50 million euros to upgrade public transport, the loan term is up to 20 years, and the interest rate will be about 2% per annum. The beneficiary of the project is KP "Kievpastrans". All tenders will be conducted in accordance with EU and European Investment Bank rules.
