Lavrov is shocked by the demolition of the monument to Soviet intelligence officers in Poland

In Poland, a monument to Soviet liberators, erected at the site of the death in 1944 of three intelligence officers who blew themselves up along with the Nazis who surrounded them, was demolished.

Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The authorities in Poland continue the blasphemous practice of systematic destruction of memorial sites dedicated to Soviet soldiers who fell in World War II during the liberation of this country from Nazi occupation.

It became known about the demolition of another monument - in the city of Sarnitsa, Greater Poland Voivodeship. The monument was erected in 1969 on the site where, in 1944, three Soviet intelligence officers died heroically while carrying out a mission. They blew themselves up along with the Nazis who surrounded them,” Zakharova said.

“Unfortunately, trampling on the memory of heroes and their exploits committed in the name of saving the Poles from extermination has long been elevated to the rank of state policy in Poland. Such manifestations of oblivion and militant revisionism cannot but shock any civilized society,” added the Foreign Ministry representative.
