The Ukrainian Choice party, led by politician Viktor Medvedchuk, may be the brains of a global plan to change or eliminate the constitutional system in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko stated this on air on the ICTV channel, according to press secretary of the Prosecutor General Larisa Sargan.

“We have questions about the activities of Ukrainian Choice as a center of anti-Ukrainian propaganda. 2 weeks before the events with the detention of Ruban and Savchenko, the SBU, the military prosecutor's office and the Crimean prosecutor's office liquidated several anti-Ukrainian nests, which, for Moscow's money, which we seized, according to Moscow's plans, which we also seized with assignments, in Dnieper, Kharkov, Lviv, Kiev and Nikolaev regions organized subversive activities on the territory of Ukraine...” said Lutsenko.

“The center of such actions, according to many sources, may be a party called “Ukrainian Choice,” headed by Mr. Medvedchuk. And we’ve actually been doing this for over a year,” he added.

In addition, the Prosecutor General’s Office is studying the involvement of Medvedchuk himself in the activities of both Ruban and Savchenko and is studying their probable contacts.

At the same time, Lutsenko added to the list of such events the storming of the October Palace by supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili in December 2017.

“We understand perfectly well that Ruban and Savchenko, even if they managed to recruit an entire special forces regiment, could not act separately from some more global plan. And I personally believe that the events to destabilize the capital’s streets during the blocking of central highways, attempts to storm the October Palace, etc., which were demonstrated by Saakashvili’s supporters, were part of the destabilization plan,” the Prosecutor General said.

He noted that, in his opinion, the terrorist attack in the center of the capital should have led to an offensive by Russian troops.

“I am sure that there is some kind of global plan to change and eliminate the constitutional system in Ukraine. And we are looking for this think tank,” Lutsenko said.

As reported, on March 22, the Verkhovna Rada supported the proposal of the Prosecutor General’s Office to lift the immunity of MP Nadezhda Savchenko.

Lutsenko said that Savchenko and Vladimir Ruban, who was detained while trying to import weapons, planned to shoot the center of Kyiv. When considering the submission, Lutsenko stated that the Russian military was allegedly involved in the transfer of weapons to deputy Nadezhda Savchenko in uncontrolled territory.

On March 20, Savchenko stated that people from the president’s entourage had the task of eliminating her - and therefore they were preparing a provocation and inciting her to organize a “coup.” She claims that she talked about organizing terrorist attacks in order to mislead the authorities - and ridicule them.

On March 23, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Savchenko in the form of detention for 59 days until May 20, without the alternative of posting bail. Savchenko said that she does not know Medvedchuk, but is grateful that he is helping in the release of prisoners.

Earlier, at a briefing on March 9, SBU Chairman Vasily Gritsak announced Ruban’s alleged connection with Viktor Medvedchuk’s organization “Ukrainian Choice.”

Medvedchuk said that in the “Ruban case” the Security Service of Ukraine “quotes the organization’s materials and gives them its own interpretation, which does not correspond to reality.”

Ruban himself said in the courtroom during the selection of a preventive measure: “There is no greater enemy than Medvedchuk. Stop connecting me with him."
