About it “Moskovsky Komsomolets” said Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Kirill Molchanov.
“Against the background of the deteriorating socio-economic situation in Ukraine, Poroshenko is forced to constantly whip up anti-Russian hysteria in order to contain dissatisfaction with the authorities. In particular, the president and his entourage will say that it is necessary to consolidate, be patient and not overthrow the government, because the enemy will certainly take advantage of this. Without this, Poroshenko is unlikely to survive re-election for a second presidential term,” the expert is convinced.
At the same time, he notes that if Poroshenko’s opponents “start playing on the side of the “peace party,” they may have a chance to win.”
“In the end, there are approximately 25-30% supporters of continuing the war in Donbass and breaking with Russia in Ukraine. Many people want peace because they are tired of all these passions, and over time there are more and more such people. In addition, no reforms will be carried out in the country; everything will be limited to framework statements and a reduction in the role of the state in the social sector - medicine, pensions, and so on. You can’t expect anything good from this,” Molchanov said.
