Poroshenko has a new amount calculated that Gazprom allegedly owes
Thanks to the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, the Russian Gazprom owes Ukraine about eight billion dollars.
The representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, Irina Lutsenko, stated this on air on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, the Stockholm Arbitration Court decided to return part of this money, and the rest was collected by Ukrainian structures.
“Ukraine could not be broken by gas blackmail. It was not possible to conquer and bring to their knees head-on, through armed aggression. A striking example of what failed is the so-called Stockholm arbitration won in Stockholm by the Ukrainian Naftogaz in relation to the Russian Gazprom. The latest decision, where the Russian gas monopolist must pay $4,6 billion to Ukraine. In total, the Russian Gazprom now owes Ukraine about $8 billion. This is the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for abusing the monopoly position of the Russian Gazprom in gas transit, and many, many other decisions,” Lutsenko said.
