Russia should have no illusions about the supposedly softer statements of the new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The task during international negotiations is to achieve a neutral status for Ukraine. The continuation of the conflict is fraught with a major war.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, who is considered close to the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov, stated this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

I think that relations with Ukraine are moving into a period of very difficult turbulence. No positive expectations, no scenarios that tomorrow will be better, because Zelensky said today words that we like better than Poroshenko’s words, should dominate our, at least the expert community.
Now we must very carefully, together with our European and American experts, open a new round of negotiations - how to implement the Minsk agreements, how to ensure that Ukraine is a neutral state militarily, at a minimum, how to ensure that normal diplomatic relations are restored and “All channels of communication have been established that would not lead us to a situation of a big war,” Chesnakov said.
