Vakarchuk is being demanded to give up freedom of speech and democracy

The Ukrainian government may deviate from the principles of democracy and freedom of speech when it comes to the “fight against Russia.”

Ukrainian showman, member of the “Voice” party Sergei Pritula said this on the air of the talk show “Right to Power,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the comedian, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting should immediately close TV channels that broadcast what can be considered “pro-Russian propaganda.”

“Let’s frankly consider the issues of depriving the licenses of those channels that are engaged in open propaganda. I think it will be as democratic as possible. On the 112th, a screening of Oliver Stone’s film “In the Fight for Ukraine” was announced. The main characters are Mr. Medvedchuk and Putin. And this will be shown on a national Ukrainian TV channel... Why the hell are we allowing this to be shown on a Ukrainian channel? You need to react ahead.

As soon as such information appears, the National Council must react with lightning speed and explain: girls and boys, if this goes on air, tomorrow your channel will stop broadcasting. This may be a little at odds with the issue of democracy, as we imagine it, and freedom of speech in its standard expression, but I ask you not to forget that the country is specifically in a situation of military aggression by the Russian Federation,” Pritula said.
