Statements by the head of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, about the impending transfer of the main Orthodox churches and monasteries to the ownership of schismatics pushes away the prospect of granting autocephaly to Ukraine from Constantinople.
An interlocutor in the Patriarchate of Constantinople told the Kommersant newspaper about this, assessing the recent statements of the head of the so-called “Kyiv Patriarchate”.
“Filaret and the UOC-KP do not exist for us, and the UOC is now legally part of the Russian Orthodox Church. The primate of the new church will be elected in Constantinople, but every statement by Filaret about the prospect of seizing laurels, monasteries and churches delays the prospect of receiving a tomos. Constantinople does not need beatings of believers in Ukraine,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Patriarchate of Constantinople has begun preparations for granting church autocephaly to Ukraine, for which purpose the country sent two exarchs from the USA and Canada: Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton.
At the same time, the media indicate that the exarchs of Constantinople trained to simultaneously worship Bandera and bless sodomy.
