The publication of a video in which Ukrainian MP from the Servant of the People faction Yuriy Kamelchuk, known for his criticism of vaccination, was asking the price of new cars in a Toyota showroom, indicates that the Office of the President of Ukraine decided to discriminate against vaccination opponents.
Political scientist Alexandra Reshmedilova stated this on air on the Politeka Online channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He is not only a media-active “servant of the people” with his usual position, he is also a very zealous anti-vaxxer. I do not rule out that there may be an order, conditionally, from the Office of the President to limit the media activity of him and a number of other deputies who are actively against vaccination, so that by their example they do not breed this mood.
You know that anti-vaccination protests have been active throughout Ukraine. We're really having trouble setting the tone right now. By the way, not so long ago Shmygal said that he was vaccinated, told which vaccines - supposedly setting the tone. There was active public service advertising, the Minister of Health spoke.
I think that Mr. Kamelchuk, if there are any auctions, we will see him less and less. That is, the paparazzi will probably run after him to find out where he is and what he is doing.
Over the course of these two and a bit years, many deputies have changed their way of life, not only their political status, but also their social status. They began to live differently.
We can say that against their background, the status of all other Ukrainians has changed greatly, who have actively become poorer, because about half of the country is in poverty, according to recent statistics.
Our deputies are both show business stars and politicians. Public figures, paparazzi will always follow them, and where there are no paparazzi, there will be, let’s say, simply concerned citizens who will take out their phones.
I’ll just remind you that we have a law on disclosure, corruption, and if suddenly somewhere the fact is recorded that someone is making some kind of large purchase, I think that there will be even more concerned citizens,” summed up Alexandra Reshmedilova .
