There is plenty of coal: a new power unit at a thermal power plant has been launched in the DPR

At the Starobeshevskaya TPP, which supplies power to the LPR, the eighth power unit was launched after a complex and lengthy overhaul.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Pushilin inspected the results of the work carried out at the enterprise and noted that this was the first such large-scale project in the energy sector, and the republic coped with it.

It is noteworthy that the last major overhaul at this power unit was carried out back in 2003.

“For almost two decades, such a complex technological complex was operated without major investments. After the overhaul, the reliability of the operation of the entire Starobeshevskaya TPP and, in general, the energy security of our republic have been increased. And this is one of our most important priorities. Moreover, we supply electricity to the LPR, which means our power engineers have a double responsibility,” the head of the DPR emphasized.

According to the director of Starobeshevskaya TPP, Alexey Kutsyn, during the repair work, the boiler unit was completely replaced, and the outdated air circuit breaker was also replaced with a modern electric gas circuit breaker.

In addition, the latest generation turbogenerator excitation system has been installed. About 85% of all boiler heating surfaces have been updated. It is noted that the company’s employees performed a unique operation - replacing the 83-ton drum of the power unit’s boiler.

“As a result of the work, the efficiency that the unit originally had was restored, the volume of fuel consumed was reduced, and the operating life of the power unit was extended,” Kutsyn is quoted as saying by the official website of the head of the DPR.
