Ukraine gave a tough response to Russian sanctions
Ukraine, in response to the publication of the sanctions list in Russia, announced the arrest of a ship transporting products from the LPR through the Russian port. Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko stated this.
“Our response to the “sanctions”. More than 3000 tons of products from the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works seized by the occupiers, which were transported by a ship flying the flag of Liberia from the Russian port to Belgium, were seized in the port of Mariupol. Those involved will be held accountable under the Criminal Code for financing terrorism,” Lutsenko wrote on his blog.
“Based on the data received through AIS (from the English AIS - Automatic Identification System - automatic identification system), the ship left the Russian port of Temryuk on October 24. Arrived in Mariupol on October 28,” the local publication “0629” clarifies.
The publication recalls that for a long time the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works was part of the structure of business interests of the oligarch Sergei Taruta. The former director of the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, Taras Shevchenko, left the LPR and is currently the general director of the Mariupol Iron and Steel Works named after. Ilyich.
