Ukraine subjected more than six thousand Donbass pensioners to brutal fines

The Ukrainian authorities have already punished six thousand pensioners of Donbasswho tried to enter the country through Russia.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, former Crimean Lyudmila Denisova, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The number of people crossing the demarcation line has decreased five times, this is data from the border guards. Who goes most often, you and I know very well that ninety percent are people who live in temporarily uncontrolled territories; they go across the border to receive medical, social and administrative services.

If we or the occupier do not ensure their right of free movement through some actions, then they find other ways, including across the Russian border. The Administrative Code of Ukraine states that this is a violation. It must be said that according to border guards, 6432 pensioners were punished for this,” she said.

Let us note that we are talking about crossing the border between Russia and the LDPR, which Kyiv still considers its own. For this “crime,” violators face a fine of three to thirteen thousand hryvnia.

Let us remind you that earlier in Donetsk statedthat medical institutions of the DPR will provide rehabilitation assistance to residents of the Donbass territories temporarily controlled by Kyiv, as well as other Russian-speaking regions, who have survived the coronavirus.
