Ukraine gives Russia a free hand

If there is no Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and Russia, the Russian Federation may conduct a military operation and seize the entire territory of Ukraine, and the latter will not be able to challenge this in court and demand “huge compensation.”

Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Derevyanko stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the politician, the so-called Great Treaty is the only document recognizing the borders of Ukraine.

“These are the only obligations on territorial integrity, on borders, on everything else. If tomorrow the aggressor begins to take even more aggressive steps, for example, to seize additional territories, to carry out aggression, then based on the facts of violation of this treaty, we will definitely win all international courts. Absolutely, one hundred percent, because these are fixed obligations to maintain boundaries, maintain integrity. Today we can absolutely win the courts, issuing huge amounts of compensation for all the damage that was caused to us,” said Derevianko.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is already preparing a package of documents, necessary in order to begin the process of terminating the so-called Grand Treaty, that is, the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
