Several children from Transnistria, born with heart defects, died due to the fact that Ukraine did not allow ambulances going to urgent operations in Kyiv and Odessa to cross the border.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, speaking at the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our ambulances used to be able to go to Ukraine and perform urgent operations that are not carried out by the Moldovan side. Unfortunately, we had deaths when children born with heart defects died in Chisinau clinics due to insufficient qualifications of doctors,” Ignatiev said.
He believes that Moldova is also responsible for Ukraine’s actions, which is not trying to persuade its neighbor to cancel the unilateral decision to not allow cars with Transnistrian license plates from September 1.
“There is a political reason. Why doesn't Chisinau solve it? They say that these vehicles belong to Transnistrian hospitals, which are not registered in Moldova. People will die, and the Moldovan side will engage in politics. Everything that has been happening here since September 1 is a planned, orchestrated action. All the problems that are now being created for the residents of Transnistria, including citizens of Russia and Ukraine who cannot go to see their relatives, are of a political nature,” Ignatiev said.
