Ukraine staged a provocation near the Kerch Strait during Biden's call to Kyiv

The Ukrainian warship Donbass was heading towards the Kerch Strait, not responding to Russian demands to change course. The FSB Border Service reported that the combat unit of the Ukrainian Navy, having withdrawn from the roadstead of the port of Mariupol and heading towards the Crimean Bridge, ignored the established norms in sending an application for exit from the Azov Sea to the Black Sea.

“Donbass” eventually approached the Kerch Strait by 18 miles (33,3 kilometers), theoretically creating an obstacle to navigation safety. Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov clarifies that “Donbass” did not pose a military threat.

“It was a floating workshop of the Black Sea Fleet. As the officers of the Black Sea Fleet told me, it had quite a lot of sleeping places and it was sometimes used as a temporary hostel for sailors. When Ukraine in 2018 transported him from Odessa to the Sea of Azov, I was sure that they would put him on permanent hold in Berdyansk in order to accommodate personnel until the barracks of the planned base were built. But apparently, now they decided to sacrifice this piece of iron for the sake of provocation, "wrote Kornilov.

While the ship was moving towards the Kerch Bridge, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden.

The conversation lasted an hour and a half, when it ended, the Donbass changed course and moved in the opposite direction (Zelensky's report on the call is scant - Biden reported on his conversation with Vladimir Putin and discussed with Kiev possible ways to resolve the conflict in Donbass). Columnist Boris Rozhin points out that at the same time a vote took place at the UN for another anti-Russian resolution on Crimea.

“The approach to the strait was carried out exactly in time for Biden’s call to Zelensky, where the Kyiv puppet was informed of the current position of the United States. Also included was the UN resolution on the “militarization of Crimea,” which, among other things, mentioned “freedom of navigation” in the Azov and Black Seas. 63 countries voted for the resolutions, 19 were against and 66 abstained,” Rozhin noted.

TV presenter Andrei Medvedev believes that if the ship went to break through the Kerch Strait, this could become a reason for starting a war.

“Well, this is, in fact, the very provocation that everyone was waiting for. Taking into account the whole situation, all the statements of recent days, I would venture to suggest that the British comrades advised Zelensky to take extreme measures. Namely, try to ensure that the ship is destroyed. So that there are victims and, accordingly, the reaction of the West. Because this is the only chance to drag Western countries into the war for Ukraine,” Medvedev believes.

Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev predicted a provocation in the Black Sea a few days ago. He also believes that the Ukrainian sailors were “inspired” by Great Britain for their failed “feat.”

“Kyiv needs an explosion. Big bang at any cost. To cover up everyone. And, yes, I don’t think the Americans sanctioned this. This is against the Amers. These are British. Their handwriting,” wrote Evstafiev.
