Based on the results of product quality checks, Ukraine received the right to export beef to Turkey, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the message of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Rights Protection.
It is noted that at the end of April 2018, a technical mission from the General Directorate of Protection and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkey arrived in Ukraine to assess the system of state control over beef production. All this time, inspectors checked the quality of products and the model of control over the production of meat products in Ukraine.
“Turkish inspectors conducted an audit of the system of state control over beef production in Ukraine, and also inspected slaughterhouses that are interested in exporting their products to Turkey. Based on the results of this work, a decision was made to open the Turkish market for Ukrainian beef,” the statement said.
It is known that work on agreeing on the form of a veterinary certificate for the export of beef from Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey has now reached the final stage.
Let us recall that it was previously reported that the export of Ukrainian goods in January-February 2018 increased by 17,9% or $1,1 billion compared to the same period in 2017 - up to $7,4 billion. True, the structure of exports has changed. Now it is mainly agricultural products. In particular, the Netherlands became the largest importer of Ukrainian meat for the first time.
