Ukrainians at negotiations via videoconference refused to release the filtering station captured last night in the “gray zone” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, supplying water to part of Donetsk and the suburbs of the capital of the DPR.

But it was virtually impossible to achieve results after 4,5 hours of heated debate and discussion about the need to de-escalate the situation around the Donetsk filtration station and restore water supply to more than half a million citizens on both sides of the contact line.
The Ukrainian side thwarted even the most innocent agreements that arose during the communication between the parties. The withdrawal of equipment, agreed upon at the final meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk and supported by the Normandy format at the level of foreign ministers, today turned out to be impossible. Calls for a ceasefire also went unheeded.
To all proposals and calls, Ukrainian representatives invariably responded that “Ukraine is already fulfilling all its obligations,” Talakina said.
She recalled how events around the station developed in recent days - first it was shelled and then captured by Ukrainian militants, who are now firing at the DPR from the station building itself.
