Ukraine has been asked to voluntarily give up its original Russian lands
All Russophobic statements by Ukrainian nationalists about the “imposition” of the Russian language are lies, because the majority of the population of this country has spoken Russian from time immemorial.
Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov stated this on the TV channel TVC, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Meanwhile, in Ukraine, a systematic attack on the Russian language continues under the incantations of ultranationalists as if Russian was imposed on the Ukrainians with tanks, executions and famine. This is exactly the statement the famous Russophobe, writer Larisa Nitsoi, made the other day.
The stupidity of this statement is obvious - Russian was the main language of communication in most of what is now Ukraine long before the Holodomor. And Moscow sent tanks to Ukraine not to inculcate the Russian language, but during the war against Hitler,” Pushkov noted.
He invited all fighters for the purity of the Ukrainian nation to abandon all primordially Russian lands.
“And it’s not just that. If Nitsoi so zealously advocates for the ethnolinguistic purity of Ukraine, then she should know that if we remove from Ukraine the territories and cities annexed to it in Soviet times, where they speak mainly Russian, then not even half of Ukraine will remain. The country will be completely scanty - without ports or access to the sea. And, of course, without Donbass. Because she received all these areas from Russia,” the senator added.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that at upon leaving the USSR, the former republics took the historical lands of Russia.
