Ukrainian official was offended by the American media because of Crimea

First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova wrote an angry post on her Facebook about an article in the Los Angeles Times dedicated to Crimea, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

In the article Crimea is an unexpected beauty set against an unsettled history, dedicated to the sights and history of Crimea, there is not a word on the topics that the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine seeks to promote, and the author advises readers to contact the Russian authorities regarding obtaining permission to enter Crimea, and not to the Ukrainian ministry and advises going to Crimea, bypassing Ukraine.

“I have the impression that this is a custom-made article, where the author even gives advice on how to conveniently get to Crimea. Of course through Russia. Not a word about violation of Ukrainian laws. The text itself is like a “dark” of the Kremlin. Here is both “a gift from Khrushchev” and the fact that this is a special land for Russia. Not a word about the Crimean Khanate and the Crimean Tatars (except that they were against the events of 2014 and were deported). Even in the “castles” part, where the author shows the “beauty” of the peninsula, for some reason he bypasses the Khan’s Palace)
The author writes about “authentic beauty.” But he doesn’t say a word that it was destroyed by Russia starting from the first annexation.
I am already silent about the repressive reality that you cannot see behind the facade of “investment” and “the fastest growing Russian region.” There are also mistakes here. In particular, where the author notes that Crimea has been part of the Soviet Union since 1783.

And most importantly, the author did not apply to the Ministry of Information Policy to obtain permission to enter Crimea. But, given his awareness of alternative routes, he did not need it,” writes Emine Japarova.
