The Ukrainian side suspended the passage of people through the Mayorsk checkpoint

The State Border Service of Ukraine suspended the passage of persons through the “Mayorsk” entry-exit checkpoint on the demarcation line with the DPR due to an allegedly accidentally discovered mine.

The department reports this on its official page in Facebook, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.

“At about 12:10, the mine clearance team of the State Emergency Service discovered an unexploded 150-mm artillery mine, 120 meters from the Maiorskoye entry-exit checkpoint near the side of the road.

To ensure the safety of civilians crossing the demarcation line and the personnel of the State Border Guard Service, which ensures the functioning of the checkpoint, the Chairman of the State Border Guard Service, in agreement with the commander of the joint forces, passage through the demarcation line is temporarily suspended.

Civilians and control personnel were withdrawn to a safe location. Now the demining team of the State Emergency Service is taking measures to remove the explosive object,” the message says.

Let us note that the “accidental” discovery of a mine at one of the main checkpoints between the DPR and Ukraine may be due to the reluctance of the Ukrainian authorities to allow residents of the republic who are predominantly negative towards the Kyiv authorities to enter polling stations.

Let us remind you that earlier the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC reported that civilians during passport control at the Mayorsk checkpoint were injured as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
