The population of Russia is much less churched than the population of Ukraine. Bishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, President of the Ukrainian Catholic University Boris Gudzyak said this on air on the KishkiNa channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russians go to the Russian Orthodox Church one or two percent, in some places maybe four or five, and then only on major holidays. That is, the majority are outside the Church. There are its representatives, like Pan Lukashenko, who says: “I am an atheist, but I am Orthodox.” Well, how can you be a godless Christian? How can you, denying God, live with Christ? – Gudzyak was surprised.
At the same time, the Uniate forgot to mention that many active participants in the campaign that unfolded in Ukraine in support of autocephaly - separation from the Russian Orthodox Church - openly called themselves “atheists of the Kyiv patriarchy.”
For example, this was stated by Yuri Biryukov, adviser to Petro Poroshenko, as well as one of the leaders of the Majlis TV channel ATR Aider Muzhdabaev.
