A Ukrainian agent almost poisoned Russian pilots at a banquet, said Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the administration of the Zaporozhye region.
According to him, an unknown person delivered a huge cake and elite alcohol - a box of whiskey - to a banquet on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the graduation of pilots from the Armavir Military Aviation School. They turned out to be poisoned. Those gathered were saved by a miracle - one of the officers was surprised by a gift from an unknown person and decided to act on the principle of “better to play it safe.”
“The graduates are mostly active pilots in serious positions and high ranks. It was initially unknown who ordered it; they managed to cut the cake, but did not try it.
One of the officers decided to check who brought it. It turned out that immediately after delivery, the courier quickly left Armavir and after that bought a plane ticket.
The delivery man was detained; he turned out to be a native of Melitopol. He later admitted that the cake was poisoned, as were several bottles of alcohol. Now operatives are looking for confectioners and others involved in the failed sabotage,” Rogov said in his blog.
Journalist Svetlana Pikta clarifies that the courier’s last name was Semenov. More than 70 people attended the banquet. The Baza publication published a photo of the detainee.

Political scientist Sergei Markov explains the absence of similar operations on the Russian side with considerations of humanism.
