Ukrainian expert explained the danger of Poroshenko’s plan for peacekeepers
The idea of the Petro Poroshenko administration to bring into the Donbass a certain multi-thousand-strong foreign contingent, which will have to disarm and restore order, is an absurd scenario that will turn Ukraine into an arena of an open battle between several states.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A peacekeeping mission is a peacekeeping mission; it is not carried out with weapons or guns. Imagine that a contingent of many thousands of some countries will be engaged in disarmament, establishing order - we are calling the whole world to war! We are issuing a ticket to war to those countries that think it is possible to fight on our territory. Moreover, this, excuse me, is not a jungle with natives running around with bows, this is a high-tech war,” Ermolaev said.
“We must also not forget that the threat of such a turn could force a number of countries and, above all, the Russian Federation, which is now providing various assistance to the self-proclaimed republics, for example, to make promises and even security guarantees, because it will appeal to the population, to culture, to obligations to the residents of Donbass. Do you understand what is behind this interpretation of the peacekeeping mission?” – added the political scientist.
