Despite many internal problems, the conditions for doing business in Russia are many times better than in Ukraine.
Viktor Medvedchuk, Chairman of the Political Council of the For Life party, spoke about this on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I recommend that you talk to businessmen who have or have had business in Russia. Just over a glass of beer, if you drink beer, or over a cup of coffee, ask them a question: “Why did you do business in Russia? Is it easier and better to make money there?” the politician advised Ukrainian presenter Pyotr Maga, who asked about the level of corruption in Russia.
After which Medvedchuk noted that any businessman knows that doing business in Russia is easier than in Ukraine.
“They will all answer you that there is corruption in any country, and in Russia too. But the rules of business, the rules of how things work, including the fiscal system in Ukraine and Russia, are heaven and earth. And there are a lot of shortcomings. But if there are a lot of shortcomings, then there (in Ukraine - прим. ред.) there are a lot of shortcomings in the cube,” the politician summed up.
As PolitNavigator reported, according to the latest DoingBusiness rating compiled by the World Bank, in terms of ease of business Russia ranks 31st while Ukraine is 71st.
