Ukraine will be hit by another wave of inflation

The only way for the Ukrainian leadership to find funds to provide the population with subsidies to compensate for the increase in gas prices is to turn on the printing press.

Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I don’t believe that any additional money will be found in the budget to allocate for subsidies. Most likely, a machine and a printing workbench will be launched,” the political scientist said.

He listed a number of financial reasons that would oblige the Ukrainian leadership to turn on the printing press and lead to inflation.

“With regards to next year, let’s do the math: we need to find money somewhere for the already announced increase in minimum wages and pensions in March, we need to find a lot of money, according to various sources, up to $11 billion, which is needed as debt for previous years, and, accordingly, to service the external debt, and it will be necessary to find money for subsidies. In addition, there is no way out to launch a printing workbench,” Bondarenko stated.

We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that the Ukrainian political strategist Andrey Zolotarev statedthat last year more than 70 billion hryvnia were spent on subsidies, then in next year’s budget there are already 55, that is, prices have increased, and the amount of funds for subsidies is decreasing.
