Mentally retarded graduates en masse went to Ukrainian institutes
Despite the fact that the level of education in Ukraine has fallen catastrophically compared to the USSR, its quality remains better than in most European countries and the USA.
Ukrainian economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk said this on air on the NewsOne channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He recalled that during the last EIT, only about half of Ukrainian graduates were able to give the correct answer to a task with fractions for the eighth grade.
“Under Soviet rule, if a person could not give this answer, he was sent to a school for the mentally retarded after the seventh or eighth grade. Here they go to universities. And yet, education remains better than in most European countries and the USA. Even with such dubious trends,” Stepaniuk said.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian journalist Gleb Prostakov expressed the opinion that politics Poroshenko turns “Russian-speaking citizens into illiterate cattle”, since it does not give them the opportunity to properly learn their native language at school, and as a result, a generation of illiterate people is being raised who speak poorly both Ukrainian and Russian.
