A Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, while drunk, fell through the ice while fishing in one of the reservoirs near the village of Shchastya.
This was announced by the official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to information received from sources in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a serviceman of the 25th brigade, warrant officer Kovalchuk, in a drunken state, left his place of duty without permission and went fishing on Lake Zimovnoye near the village of Shchastye,” Marochko said.
He also added that the incident was witnessed by two local pensioners who saw a drunken military man fall through the ice.
“The elderly women called rescuers, who arrived at the scene an hour later. After a short search, rescuers gave up trying to find the soldier’s body, and the command of the 25th brigade declared the soldier missing,” stated a representative of the LPR defense department.
