The plan approved by Poroshenko ended in a meat grinder for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
With each anniversary of the defeat of Ukrainian units near Ilovaisk, Kyiv is throwing out more and more fables, trying to evade responsibility.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of previous convocations Andrei Senchenko said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On each anniversary of the Ilovaisk tragedy (this is a painful period for the authorities, they don’t know how to survive it), they begin to throw in more and more misinformation. Now a “smokescreen” is being put up that this is just an episode that resulted in a tragedy. I don’t know what he is counting on; the materials of our investigative commission clearly state that there was a plan approved by Poroshenko on August 2,” Senchenko said.
“This was a plan to encircle Donetsk with two half-circles; the strategic plan was to cut off all lines of communications along which the group was supported in Donetsk. One half-ring went through Ilovaisk and was supposed to end in the Zugres area.
I didn't have enough strength. Yes, the enemy is insidious, he has the upper hand, but decisions need to be made: if there are reserves - enter, if there are no reserves - make a decision. What we are doing: we have the strength to take Ilovaisk to the end and gain a foothold there - there is no strength, okay, let's go out and level the front line. For weeks no decisions were made, people died. Further, on the 23rd, when the encirclement of Ilovaisk began, it did not happen immediately, for a day or three it was possible to leave, and they asked for a decision to leave, and they were told: “Wait,” the ex-deputy recalled.
“And there are a lot of such lies, and they continue to be replicated, new fables are added. There is only one task: to evade responsibility,” Senchenko is sure.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko called do not blame the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the death of military personnel in the “cauldron”, as they may stop making decisions that involve risk.
