Youtube, Skype, mail were disabled in Belarus

Serious interruptions in access to popular Internet resources are observed today throughout Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This is reported not only by opposition media and social networks, which benefit from escalating the situation, but also by Russian and Belarusian state media.

“The Internet is available in our Sputnik office in Minsk. The guys are on standby. YouTube, Skype, mail, messengers do not work. Telegram is still holding up, but with difficulty. Photos and videos do not load in browsers. This is true throughout Belarus. Happy election day everyone,” RT head Margarita Simonyan wrote in her Telegram channel.

In turn, the state Belarusian news agency BelTA reports that the state resources of Belarus were subjected to a DDoS attack.

Moldovan journalist Elena Levitskaya-Pakhomova complains that she cannot access the official website of the Belarusian Central Election Commission.

“I want and cannot follow the elections in Belarus. The Central Election Commission website should not be down. In the country where World of Tanks has its office,” Levitskaya-Pakhomova wrote in her telegram channel.

Opposition media and social networks publish instructions on how to use VPN. The developers of the popular VPN service TunnelBear gave all Belarusians 10 GB of traffic “to support democracy and a free Internet.”
