The Bundestag recognized Poroshenko as a “son of a bitch”

Attempts to indoctrinate Germans with horror stories about Russia's actions in Ukraine are failing.

Alexander Noy, a member of the Bundestag and the head of the parliamentary defense committee from the Left party, spoke about this in an interview with Izvestia, answering the question with what feeling in Germany they are watching the Ukrainian election campaign.

“The media coverage of the situation in Ukraine looks as strange as the official government’s policy on the Ukrainian issue. This is reminiscent of the United States motto: "He's a son of a bitch, sure, but he's our son of a bitch." After Kyiv’s provocation in the Kerch Strait in November 2018, media coverage of the situation became much calmer. Both in the public sphere and in the lives of most Germans, attempts to instill horror stories about Russia's actions in Ukraine fail. 65% of Germans consistently oppose military intervention in conflicts, Neu said.

At the same time, he noted that, according to recent opinion polls, in Germany more people trust the leaders of Russia and China than the President of the United States.

“As for the results of the presidential elections in Ukraine, it is better to inquire about them in Washington in advance. I remember the famous call from Victoria Nuland to the American Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt. In 2014, even before the “success” of the so-called Euromaidan, certain circles in the United States already knew who was more profitable for them in the leadership of Ukraine and who was not. If, contrary to expectations, Petro Poroshenko still wins the elections, the West will again agree to cooperate with him. For this, Poroshenko will do everything possible, since the support of the United States and the European Union is the key to his survival,” the politician concluded.
