In the center of Kyiv, nationalists toppled and desecrated a monument to underground partisan Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya.

“Unknown people painted the monument and threw it to the ground... It itself is intact. We will restore it and return it to the city,” said the head of the Shevchenko Regional State Administration Oleg Garyaga.
At the same time, he noted that the question is now being discussed whether it is worth returning the desecrated monument to its original location.
“We decide whether we will return it to its original place. Because we see that there are people who are aggressively opposed to him. Perhaps it makes sense to move it to the decommunization museum, which will be opened in Kyiv,” says the official.
The monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was located in the public garden of the same name at the intersection of Gonchar and Bogdan Khmelnitsky streets.
As reported, as part of the implementation of the law on decommunization, Kyiv has only one monument left to demolish - the legendary division commander Nikolai Shchors. At the mayor’s office, promise the nationalists from the “OUN” to do this before the UPA day, October 14th.
