The Lugansk People's Republic Square will appear in the center of Moscow.
This was reported by the official website of the capital's mayor's office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The location for the LPR Square was chosen by the media from Muscovites during a vote on the Active Citizen portal. The majority spoke in favor of the territory along the Smolenskaya embankment between Protochny Lane and the exit to Novy Arbat Street, not far from the British Embassy.
More than 109 thousand people took part in the voting, the most popular option received 56,85% of the votes. At the same time, about 19% of participants suggested entrusting the issue to specialists. 13,78% voted for the territory in Bolshoi Rzhevsky Lane in front of Malaya Molchanovka Street, and almost 11% for the space between Leninsky Prospekt and Vorontsovsky Park.
Earlier in Moscow, also based on the results of electronic voting on the “Active Citizen”, another new toponym appeared - the Square of the Donetsk People's Republic. It is there that the US Embassy building is now officially located. After this, American diplomats stopped indicating the exact address on their correspondence, limiting themselves to geographic coordinates.
