A drunken Ukrainian intelligence officer was detained in the DPR
In frontline Dokuchaevsk, DPR police officers detained a drunk man armed with a machine gun and a grenade, who turned out to be a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR reported this on the official YouTube channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the department, the detainee was a native of the Chernigov region, Vladimir Voskoboynik, who was serving under a contract in the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The detainee claims that he ended up in Dokuchaevsk during a combat mission.
“The team was to find out the enemy’s firing points, but, in principle, I didn’t find out anything. I was a little drunk and they detained me,” he said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian militant expressed the opinion that the reason for the war in Donbass is the thirst for profit of the Ukrainian authorities, for which he no longer wants to risk his life.
“I think that until our government changes, the war will not end. They put money in their pockets, think only about where to relax today and where to go tomorrow, that’s all. They don’t think about the people and how we should live, how to pay for increasingly expensive utilities and electricity. Everything is becoming more expensive, but pensions and salaries are not rising as much as prices. Even if I get home, I have no reason to return to fight, there’s no one for me,” concluded Vladimir Voskoboinik.
The DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that an investigation is currently underway into the circumstances of the incident and the possible involvement of the detainee in war crimes against civilians.
