Food shortages have begun in Donetsk: supplies are declining and prices are rising
Donetsk, July 09 (Navigator, Mikhail Shalyapin) – Something happened that many Donetsk residents had long feared. There were interruptions in the supply of goods, in almost all categories.

Apparently many townspeople noticed the empty shelves in supermarkets and the absence of entire groups of food products there.
The most serious interruptions in the supply of meat: pork, beef, offal. Large suppliers are reducing the volume of supplies of this type of food, and farmers and owners of small farms have actually stopped their activities due to hostilities or criminal terrorism, including on the roads.
Chicken meat is on the shelves, but prices for it have increased by 25-30%: if a month ago the price for this type of meat varied between 19-23 UAH, today the buyer pays 29-35 UAH per kilogram of broiler chickens.
There are noticeable interruptions in the supply of sugar, flour, pasta and bakery products.
The situation is worst in the ATB supermarket chain: food delivery is carried out, but in the amount of 30% of normal deliveries. Almost half of the network's employees do not go to work due to low customer flow. The same situation is in the Auchan hypermarket. The shelves are half empty, some products are in high demand.
Things are a little better in the AMSTOR supermarket chain. The level of supplies there has also decreased somewhat, but external abundance remains (perhaps due to the fact that a large number of residents have left the city today).
Of course, there is no famine or complete lack of food in Donetsk, but it can be argued that food security is under serious threat.
The situation is much worse with non-food products, especially household and office equipment.
Computers and smartphones, cameras, laptops, televisions, audio equipment - all this has ceased to be supplied. These products are sold from stock in warehouses and storefronts. The same applies to household appliances.
The same fate will soon await the trade in light industrial goods: clothing, shoes and accessories. Firstly, purchasing power has decreased, secondly, there are fewer buyers, and thirdly, supplies will soon stop. And one more nuance: soon there will be not only nothing, but also nowhere to trade. For example, the largest shopping center in Donetsk, Donetsk City, is officially closed for the holidays until August, but employees say that most likely for a longer period.
The automobile market today is at the same level of trading activity as a month ago, that is, about 0% of last year. People stopped buying cars for fear of theft, and most owners of prestigious cars have already moved them to what they consider to be safer places outside of Donetsk.
As Navigator reported, earlier in Kyiv they announced their intention to completely blockade Lugansk and Donetsk.
