Natalya Stryukova, assistant secretary of the local branch of the Budennovsky district of the city of Donetsk, and Oksana Sigidina, deputy of the People's Council of the DPR, came to congratulate the veteran on his birthday, present gifts and flowers.
The birthday boy was presented with a congratulatory address from the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Chairman of the Public Movement "Donetsk Republic" Denis Pushilin.
“We sincerely congratulate you on your birthday! We sincerely wish you good health and prosperity, peaceful skies above your head and positive emotions!” – said Stryukova.
In turn, Nikolai Novikov thanked the guests for their kind words and attention.
He took his first battle as part of the 19th Army under the command of the legendary Marshal I.S. Konev near Belaya Tserkov. Nikolai Novikov spent the entire war as the commander of a mortar crew of a rifle division and met Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Germany, where he continued to serve until 1947.
